HOPE + SCOTT | WILDWOOD ENGAGEMENT

A Wildwood Native Park Engagement Session | Fresno, CA

Meet Hope and Scott! Scott works with my husband Todd. He was going through a divorce around the time Todd and I were getting married. Todd shared with me that Scott was one of the people who was really there for him while he went through his own divorce several years prior. He felt bad that Scott was now going through it. When we heard Scott was getting married we were so happy for him!

We share a few fun similarities with Hope and Scott. They met on match.com, just like we did, and they have the exact same wedding date as we do! We are so happy that they found their person and can’t wait to celebrate their wedding day with them on our anniversary!

It has been awhile since I’ve photographed an engagement session at Wildwood Native Park. It was great to be back and take advantage of the different locations it offers.

Hope and Scott met me at Wildwood Native Park, with Scott’s two boys, on a day when it was 103 degrees! That could have made for a really miserable session but they weren’t phased by the heat at all! That’s just the way it is here in the valley.

We started our session in the open fields with dry grass and fallen trees. It is one of my favorite areas to shoot because it is so rustic. We took some portraits on one of the fallen trees then made our way to a weathered wooden bridge, a client favorite. I took advantage of the transition to the bridge and grabbed some walking shots on the way. The images we took on the bridge are some of my favorites!

For our next location, we headed to a little spot tucked away by the river that I just love. To get to it you have to walk on a small path through some foliage and then it opens up to a little embankment along the river. It is normally a dreamy little spot that just feels magical to me. It was disappointing to see that someone had sprayed graffiti on the trunks of the trees and left a bunch of trash on the riverbank. I had to adjust the way I shoot to avoid the graffiti and trash in the images.

My time with these two was so much fun. Even though it was hot, their engagement session resulted in gorgeous images! It also allowed me to have some really awesome time to get to know the two of them. Hope is an assistant registrar at CSHU and Scott is an english teacher at MSHS. They are incredibly kind and easy to love. They giggled with each other during our entire time together, which is a key ingredient for a healthy marriage!

See you both in October!
