Shelby moved next door to us when she and my daughter, Lauren, were in the 3rd grade. I was so excited that a girl my daughter’s age had moved in and she would have another friend to play with! I couldn’t wait to take Lauren over to meet her, but Lauren was having nothing to do with it. She had no desire to go next door and talk to this girl. We happened to catch them outside one day and I practically had to drag Lauren over to their house and introduce them. I was so embarrassed!! They finally met and it didn’t take long for them to become close friends.
The girls would bounce back and forth between houses, have sleepovers, and annoy their younger brothers. Lauren broke her first bone at Shelby’s house. She was trying to stand on a basketball (because that’s a good idea) and it didn’t go as she had planned.
These girls experienced a lot together and it has been so much fun watching them grow. I can’t believe that they are graduating high school together now and preparing to take off to college! Time went by much too fast, which is another reason I love what I do. Being able to capture memories in photographs, so these precious moments aren’t forgotten, is such a joy for me!
