Glowy Senior Session | Brandon

This glowy senior session was my first in months and I was so happy that it was my “nephew”, Brandon. We aren’t related by blood, rather by choice. I have known his parents for over 25 years. We raised our kids together, vacationed together, and endured many highs and lows together. They are chosen family, and I am so glad I got to be the one to capture these memories for Brandon.

Brandon attended Buchanan High School where he was involved in track and field and was a key football player for their team. His heart is big, he loves deep, and loves God. I couldn’t be more proud of the man he has become.

Like so many, Brandon’s senior year was cut short. He missed the final months hanging out with friends. He missed prom with his girlfriend, Mary, and the long awaited graduation (at least they missed the long speeches!). I can’t imagine how it must have felt for all the seniors who missed out on so much their final year.

It wasn’t all lost though. There was something good that came from this experience and it taught them a great lesson. Life doesn’t always go according to plan and you just have to roll with the punches. I have seen senior after senior have their moment of sadness, mourning the loss of their year, but then pushing through it and looking forward to what is to come.

The school district did a phenomenal job of giving seniors the best graduation they could, considering the restrictions. The football stadium was decorated similar to how it would have been on the night of graduation. Students wore their cap and gown and walked across the stage to receive their diploma and turn their tassel. Family members watched and cheered from the sidelines. The seniors were given the closure they needed.

Brandon will be continuing his education, along with Mary, at Fullerton University. Reach for the stars Brandon…you’re going to do awesome things!
