Rita & Shannon Engagement – Lewis Creek Trail
Rita and Shannon share a love for adventure and each other. I am a hopeless romantic and love going on adventures so, couples like Rita and Shannon are dream clients! I was so excited when they asked me if I would be willing to go on a hike with them on the Lewis Creek Trail for their engagement session.
We were disappointed that there wouldn’t be any glowy light for the session. It was a very overcast day. But, as we made our way on the trail, we were happy to find a patch of snow still on the ground from a previous storm that passed through.
This was such a fun session. I can’t wait to share this journey with you!
Let’s take a moment and talk about these next images. They were taken at the top of a waterfall. We had talked about hiking down to the base of the waterfall but, after all the rain we had gotten, we were concerned that the steep trail wouldn’t be stable enough, so we opted to stay at the top.
As I scoped out the area looking for a good spot, Shannon asked if we could go further upstream. The water was streaming over the rocks and he thought it was pretty. I told him we could and asked if he knew how to get there. He said, “Through the water”. We took off our shoes, rolled up our pants, and Rita pulled up her dress that she had changed into, and we immersed ourselves knee deep into the frigid water.
Shannon led us through the icy water over slippery rocks. My legs were numb. I gripped my camera and prayed I wouldn’t fall or drop my gear. When we reached the creek bank Shannon climbed onto a rock moist from melting snow. He slid back into the water, soaking his lower half. I felt so bad but they just laughed and said it was part of the memory. I’m telling you, dream clients right here!
You will see that it was so worth going through that to get these images. It was so pretty!
