Glowy Family Portraits – China Creek
Even though I’ve known this beautiful mama since she was in elementary school, this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to photograph her and her sweet family, but it was worth the wait! This glowy family session at China Creek was everything!
Shakila is my best friend’s sister. I have watched her grow up and have been a part of every important event in her life! Her wedding day was stunning and so much fun. It was a beautiful blend of their Pakistani and Spanish cultures.
When we found out she was expecting we were thrilled! But, imagine our surprise when she announced she was expecting twins! The only one of her 4 siblings to have twins. What a blessing.
These two girls are a joy to spend time with. They are funny, chatty, and adventurous, just like their mama. It was easy to capture their relationship and lifelong best friend status.

Let’s talk about this location for a minute. This was the first time I had been to this location. Our session was in the morning. The sun was pretty high in the sky, casting harsh light everywhere. We came to this one spot at the end of a trail and found this glorious light!!! It was a dream! There was filtered light through the trees, access to the sky for secondary light, and layers of fall color.
Can you see all the personality these two have? Imagine living with them. You’d never stop smiling and laughing. They had me so entertained during our whole session.
I always make time to capture portraits of mom and dad alone. It needs to be about them too, and the kids will love those images in the years to come.
Here you can see what a difference location makes in portraits. These aren’t bad at all! But, when you compare them to the other spot we were in, the light was much softer and more even, creating a dreamy, glowy look.
