CORONA VIRUS 2020 | MY THOUGHTS

Sharing my thoughts about the Corona Virus – Personal

I have been thinking about this whole Corona Virus pandemic A LOT…as I’m sure most of us have. I just wanted to write a blog about it, to express my thoughts, as well as document how I have handled it.

One has to wonder if God isn’t just forcing us to stop and realign. We get so busy and distracted, often chasing something. It is so hard for us to just live in the moment. We are always looking ahead, telling ourselves, “If I just get to this point…If I can just finish this thing…When I accomplish this or that…then I can do X, Y, or Z.” I am SO guilty of this. I am so busy looking ahead toward where I’m going or want to be, living for what is to come, rather than what is now.

Often, we are convinced that “things will get better when”…or, “I will be happy when”…or, “I can finally relax when”…and we don’t realize that the time is NOW. We hear it all the time…”We can’t change the past, and tomorrow is uncertain, so live for today.” But how many of us actually do? I for one don’t. Again, I am always looking ahead and missing what is right in front of me.

While it is easy to get frustrated and worried over this situation, I know that THIS is the time that I need to push into my faith and seek God first in this. What is his plan? Because he has one. What does he want me to gain from this experience. How is he using this for his greater purpose?

Genesis 6:11-21

Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark – you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.”

After the flood, God promised to never flood the earth again. He gave us a rainbow as a symbol of that promise. But…he never promised he wouldn’t stop us in another way. Could it be that God, once again, sees how corrupt we have become? Our world is full of violence, hate, and division. I am wondering if he didn’t set this in motion to stop us. Did he put us into isolation so that we have no choice but to realign ourselves. Will we realize how much we value, and NEED connection with others? Maybe when this is all over we’ll come out of it treating each other with more kindness and acceptance…

Since the Corona Virus has given us so much more time now, many people I have talked to have said they have really stopped to think about how they have been living their life. They have taken it for granted, gotten stuck in routine, and found themselves just trying to get through life. They are seeing that they aren’t really living. Now they are using this time to re-evaluate how they live their life.

There are so many more families out taking walks or going on bike rides together than before this safety in place. Parents are sitting down with their kids and doing things with them, rather than sticking them on a video game or in front of the tv. Teachers and principals are online doing read alouds and cooking demonstrations for their students, and musical artists are sharing their love of music online in a personal way for their fans…all things you have never seen before!

I am taking full advantage of Corona Virus isolation. Many times I say, “if I just had more time I could do this or that…” Well now I have the time, so I am knocking a ton of things off that list. I’m cleaning out closets, purging stuff I don’t use or need, and completing some projects around the house. I even started to do yoga! It has been on my list for a long time but never made the time to start. I am also finding time to just rest and reset mentally and spiritually.

My to do list for my business seems never ending. I have used this time to catch up and check things off that list as well. Some of the things I have accomplished, in just the first week of isolation, is creating a blogging calendar, updating my website, completing courses I haven’t had time to get through, and worked on marketing strategies to increase bookings as soon as this is all over.

So, instead of feeling frustrated and angry over this situation, take some time to think about your life. Reflect on how this could be the very thing that you needed to reset and realign. Something big is happening in the midst of all this…

Carianne, that was beautiful, really touched my heart. I was telling Larry similar things, that Hod’s allowed this to wake up our Country, that we would humble ourselves & look to God first. You stated it all so well. I appreciate your sharing! God Bless & be well😍

I love this. Many of us are stir crazy. I’m working at a hospital and I see the fear and panic hidden behind smiles. I just pray that we get back to what is important. Family, solid relationships, community, compassion and good home made food.

We can do this. We are spiritual beings having a human experience like no other. Sending out light. Going within. Creating a new perspective!
Stay safe and healthy! Blessings to you and yours
